España triunfa en el FIM X-Trial de Naciones en Sevilla/Spain triumphs at the FIM X-Trial of Nations in Seville

Toni Bou y Gabriel Marcelli consiguen el decimocuarto título por equipos para España, con Gran Bretaña e Italia acompañándolos en el podio.

Toni Bou and Gabriel Marcelli secured Spain’s 14th team title at the FIM X-Trial of Nations in Seville. The Spanish duo dominated the event, reaffirming their country’s supremacy in the discipline, while Great Britain and Italy joined them on the podium with strong performances.

El equipo español formado por Toni Bou y su compañero del Repsol Honda Trial Team, Gabriel Marcelli, se alzó con la victoria en el FIM X-Trial of Nations de Sevilla. Bou celebró el triunfo tras haber conseguido su vigésimo título mundial de X-Trial una semana antes en Chalon-sur-Saône, mientras que Marcelli debutó en la competición por equipos con una victoria.

La dupla española dominó la prueba desde el principio, al ganar las dos primeras rondas. En la final, donde los dos pilotos de cada equipo afrontaron el mismo tramo pero en direcciones opuestas, sus rivales no tuvieron ninguna opción para alcanzarlos desde el inicio. Tras el tercer tramo, España había acumulado tan solo 2 puntos de penalización, frente a los 11 de Gran Bretaña y los 18 de Italia.

Al final, Bou y Marcelli terminaron con solo 4 puntos de penalización, mientras que Harry Hemingway (Beta) y Jack Peace (Sherco) acumularon 26, y Matteo Grattarola (Beta) y Francesco Titli (TRRS) terminaron con 31. El segundo puesto del podio se decidió en la última sección, a la que los pilotos británicos llegaron con una ventaja de dos puntos sobre los italianos, asegurando finalmente el segundo lugar, su mejor resultado desde Pau en 2017. Mientras tanto, el equipo italiano repitió el tercer puesto que logró el año pasado en Niza.

El equipo francés, formado por Benoit Bincaz (Electric Motion) y Hugo Dufrese (Beta), que terminó segundo el año pasado en Niza, no logró llegar a la final tras quedar cuarto tanto en la primera como en la segunda ronda.

Mientras tanto, en el equipo de Estados Unidos, Ryon Land (Sherco) se retiró a última hora tras lesionarse durante un entrenamiento dos días antes y fracturarse un dedo de la mano derecha. Como consecuencia, Joshua Roper (GasGas) compitió solo y el equipo quedó fuera de la competición.

The Spanish team, made up of Toni Bou and his Repsol Honda Trial Team teammate Gabriel Marcelli, claimed victory at the FIM X-Trial of Nations in Seville. Bou celebrated the win just a week after securing his 20th individual X-Trial World Championship in Chalon-sur-Saône, while Marcelli marked his team debut with a triumph.
The Spanish duo dominated from the outset, winning the first two rounds. In the final, where each team’s riders tackled the same section in opposite directions, their rivals had no chance of catching them. After the third section, Spain had only 2 penalty points, compared to 11 for Great Britain and 18 for Italy.
Ultimately, Bou and Marcelli finished with just 4 penalty points, while Harry Hemingway (Beta) and Jack Peace (Sherco) from Great Britain accumulated 26, and Matteo Grattarola (Beta) and Francesco Titli (TRRS) from Italy ended with 31. The battle for second place was decided in the last section, with the British riders holding a two‑point advantage over the Italians, securing their best result since Pau 2017. Italy repeated last year’s third place from Nice.
The French team of Benoit Bincaz (Electric Motion) and Hugo Dufrese (Beta), runners‑up in Nice last year, failed to reach the final after finishing fourth in both opening rounds.
Meanwhile, the United States team faced a setback: Ryon Land (Sherco) withdrew after fracturing a finger in training two days before the event. As a result, Joshua Roper (GasGas) competed alone, leaving the team out of contention.

ESPAÑA (1.º):

Toni Bou: “Competir en el X-Trial of Nations siempre es diferente, y hoy fue muy especial porque lo hice junto a Gabi, mi compañera de equipo. Corrimos a un nivel altísimo, sobre todo en la final, y el ambiente en Sevilla fue espectacular.”

Gabriel Marcelli: “Mi primera experiencia en este evento fue fantástica. Con Toni es fácil. Estoy muy contento de haber compartido equipo con él y de haber conseguido la victoria ante la afición española.”

GRAN BRETAÑA (2.º):

Harry Hemingway: “Estoy muy contento porque competimos muy bien. Terminamos segundos en todas las rondas. En la final cometí un error, pero no afectó al resultado. Tanto Jack como yo montamos muy bien. Ojalá en unos años podamos presionar de verdad a España.”

Jack Peace: “Fue una buena noche. Las secciones tuvieron un buen nivel. Rodamos bien, con Italia presionándonos hasta el final. Hubo algunos errores, pero en general fue una buena noche.”

ITALIA (3.º):

Matteo Grattarola: “Estuvimos muy cerca del segundo puesto y estoy contento con el resultado, aunque nos quedamos a dos puntos. Llegamos a la final y quizás podríamos haberlo hecho un poco mejor, pero así son las carreras”.

Francesco Titli: “Hoy no he pilotado tan bien como podría, pero aun así conseguimos llegar a la final. Empezamos bien, pero luego cometí demasiados errores. De todas formas, volver al podio es importante. Intentaremos mejorar el año que viene.”

SPAIN (1st):
Toni Bou: “Competing in the X-Trial of Nations is always different, and today was very special because I did it alongside Gabi, my teammate. We rode at a very high level, especially in the final, and the atmosphere in Seville was spectacular.”
Gabriel Marcelli: “My first experience in this event was fantastic. With Toni it’s easy. I’m very happy to have shared the team with him and to have achieved victory in front of the Spanish fans.”

GREAT BRITAIN (2nd):
Harry Hemingway: “I’m very happy because we competed really well. We finished second in all the rounds. In the final I made a mistake, but it didn’t affect the result. Both Jack and I rode very well. Hopefully in a few years we can really put pressure on Spain.”
Jack Peace: “It was a good night. The sections had a good level. We rode well, with Italy pushing us until the end. There were some mistakes, but overall it was a good night.”

ITALY (3rd):
Matteo Grattarola: “We were very close to second place and I’m happy with the result, even though we missed it by two points. We reached the final and maybe we could have done a little better, but that’s racing.”
Francesco Titli: “Today I didn’t ride as well as I could have, but we still managed to reach the final. We started well, but then I made too many mistakes. Anyway, returning to the podium is important. We’ll try to improve next year.”
